Total sells Kazakh oil field

DEC. 1 2022 (The Bulletin)  — France’s Total said that it had agreed a $330m deal to sell its 60% stake in the Dunga oil field in Kazakhstan to Oriental Sunrise, which is owned by Kazakh businessmen Bauyrzhan Bisembayev and Zhan Makarov (Dec. 1). The Dunga field is the second largest oil producer in the Mangystau region, producing 7,400 barrels of oil per day. A 2019 expansion plan had expected to be pumping 20,000 barrels from the field by the end of 2022. The two other shareholders in Dunga are Oman Oil and Portugal’s Partex Oil & Gas.
