Tajik court sentences GBAO protesters

NOV. 25 2022 (The Bulletin) — The Tajik Supreme Court handed down five life sentences to people accused of stirring anti-government violence in the southern Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). Eight other people were given sentences of 10 to 30 years. Human rights activists have criticised the closed-door trials and said that they are part of the government’s mission to crush dissent.
