NOV. 23 2022 (The Bulletin) — On a trip to Belgrade, Azerbaijani Pres. Ilham Aliyev signed a partnership agreement with his Serbian counterpart that should pave the way for Serbia to import more Azerbaijani gas. Azerbaijan’s geopolitical importance to Europe has grown since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of Western sanctions. Serbia has already said that it wants to tap into the Southern Gas Corridor that pumps gas to Europe from Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea.
