Russian MPs renew call for ban on Central Asian migrants

MAY 10 2024 (The Bulletin) — Nationalist Russian MPs renewed a call for a ban on migrants from Central Asia in Russia after a Tajik bus driver was blamed for killing seven people in St Petersburg on Friday. The bus careered off a bridge into a canal.

Tension between Russia and Central Asian countries has increased since March after four Tajiks were accused of carrying out the worst terror attack in Russia for 20 years.
