Russia hires Tajik laborers to rebuild Mariupol

DEC. 5 2022 (The Bulletin)  — Russia has hired dozens of Tajik labourers to rebuild occupied-Mariupol, destroyed by a heavy bombardment in the first three months of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, RFE/RL reported. RFE reported that Tajik labourers had been lured to Mariupol by the promise of high wages but that these had not been paid. They also complained about food and accommodation.
