Price of dairy in Kazakhstan jumps 28%

NOV. 23 2022 (The Bulletin) — Dairy products in Kazakhstan, an important part of the average household’s expenses, jumped by an average of 28% in the 12-months to the end of October, an independent survey showed. This is important because it is a far higher jump than the government’s headline inflation figure of 12% suggests. In Magistau, in western Kazakhstan, the price increase for dairy products has been 40%. Mangistau is renowned as a grumpy, restive region.
