AUG. 1 (The Bulletin) — Pope Francis will meet with Russian Patriarch Kirill at an interfaith conference in Nur Sultan in mid-Sept., the first meeting between a leader from the West and Russia since the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine in February. The interfaith conference is part of Kazakhstan’s drive to push itself as an international negotiations venue.
