Imprisoned Kyrgyz activists start hunger strikes

DEC. 14 2022 (The Bulletin)  — Four Kyrgyz women activists arrested in October after protesting against a border deal with Uzbekistan that settled a dispute over a reservoir started a hunger strike. They said that they were protesting against political repression. Political activists have warned that free speech in Kyrgyzstan is being crimped.
