APRIL 22 2024 (The Bulletin) — David Cameron, Britain’s Foreign Secretary, flew to Tajikistan on Monday for the start of a tour of all five Central Asian states and Mongolia.
This is the first visit by a British Foreign Secretary to Tajikistan. Cameron will also become the first British Foreign Secretary to visit Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
He talked up his visit as an opportunity to improve business and education links. Britain has been importing labour from Central Asia to plug gaps created by Brexit.
