Doctors say Saakashvili is too ill to face a trial

NOV. 28 2022 (The Bulletin) — Doctors acting for Georgia’s former president Mikhail Saakashvili blocked his trial for crossing a border illegally from starting because they said that he was not well enough to face a judge. Saakashvili who returned to Georgia in 2021 after eight years in exile was immediately imprisoned on various corruption charges that he had been tried for in his absence. He has been on two hunger strikes and has said that he can only move with the help of a wheelchair.
