Azerbaijanis block Nagorno-Karabakh road

DEC. 12 2022 (The Bulletin)  — Several dozen ethnic Azerbaijanis blocked the only road leading from Armenia to Stepanakert, the ethnic Armenian city in Nagorno-Karabakh. The protesters are demanding access to mining sites controlled by the Armenian authorities in the region but Armenian officials have accused Azerbaijan of stirring trouble. Human rights groups say that thousands of people in Stepanakert are now cut off from essential supplies. Tension has been rising between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Russian peacekeepers have deployed but have not broken it up.
