Azerbaijan, Georgia signed cable deal with Romania, Hungary

DEC. 12 2022 (The Bulletin)  — The leaders of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia and Romania sign a deal in Bucharest to build a cable running from Azerbaijan to Europe across the South Caucasus and the Black Sea that will act as a new power source for the EU. Azerbaijan is building large additional power production capacity so that it can supply Europe with power. It has also signed lucrative gas contracts with the EU, substituting for Russia.
