Armenia votes in parliamentary election

May 6, 2012 – In Armenia’s parliamentary election, the Republican Party is expected to win, according to the Bloomberg news agency. It is the party of President Serzh Sargsyan and currently the lead party in the ruling coalition. A poor result would be terminal for Armenia’s vocal opposition which have been preparing for years for this election. Exit polls are expected some time after voting closes at 8pm local time.
